How Dhoni has become inspiration for lifetime

How has Dhoni inspired me

I have been a very die hard fan of Indian Cricket. Being a Sachin Tendulkar and Ricky Ponting fan, it is obviously very difficult to see someone else taking up over the cricket, both in terms of scoring at a faster pace and handling captaincy so well.

I still remember the first match he played against Bangladesh where he was sent back to pavilion for 0 (duck). It is definitely a heartbreaking situation when I see it after he has become so successful.

I have never been Dhoni fan all my life. Because I firmly believe that there was so many great players who have struggled a lot and have come on the top. I used to think like this, until I saw the movie “M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story”.

Although, I know for the fact that the movie was presented in a way that readers would love it. However, I didn’t focus much on the masala part, instead decided to focus more on his journey and how has he achieved it.

So here’s why Dhoni has become one of my most inspirational person for lifetime.

Dream High

He always had higher dreams compared to everyone else. Even his parents had some sort of doubt on him (obviously they would because they come from a poor background where there is no place for sports), but he had always faith in himself as his dreams were extremely higher.

Learn from Everyone

There were times where he was a good players, and yet didn’t get a chance in the cricket team, yet he continued to do this practice and haven’t lost his cool. He has also emphasis on learning from everyone. For example: the yorker ball six which he plays so well now, was originated from his friend. He has not left learning space from anyone.

Accept Failures and Defeat

There were quite a lot of times where other teams have beaten Indian team. But that didn’t led him to lose his cool. Instead he accept the defeats and worked on why the team failed and improved a lot after that.

Have Loyal friends in Life

Even though he has become a great players now, he still respects all of his friends, with whom he used to do planning when he wasn’t even famous. Not just from his side, but even when Dhoni was not even famous, his friends used to encourage him a lot and supported him in all of his bad times. For example: Driving all through the night to reach Kolkata Airport for the U19.

Leave your comfort zone

He has indeed worked very hard. Both in terms of improving his cricketing skills and his strategic skills. His strategy are now well known to everyone and cannot be copied very easily. Not just this, he was not great at even speaking english, but he has put lot of effort in learning that as well.

Loss of Someone special

In the movie, when he lost Priyanka, the love of his life, he was completely into upset and depression mode. But he didn’t give up in life. Although, it took him some while to get back to normal, but he has put immense effort in making him what he is today. All of us totally understanding what is the pain in losing someone whom we have love the most. My respect for him has become even more after this point.

Sometimes, I wonder, was there anyone whom I have been so impressed and inspired after knowing how they did what they did in their life to be at where they are now.
