How to overcome brain stress?

How to overcome brain stress

Stress has continued to be one of the major health issues of our country. According to one of the survey, about 1/3rd of adults reported that their stress has increased over the past few years. About 24% of adults have reported that they are facing extreme stress (which s up by 18% than previous years).

It is clearly well know that stress can damage the overall health of an individual. However, where there is a will there's a way. If stress affects brain in a bad way, then we have solutions on overcoming the challenges of stress on brain.

Following are the ways by which stress affects brain in a negative way:

-> Your brain doesn’t learn well

-> You have a great stroke risk

-> You get into depression mode easily

-> Your brain shrinks (and become even more smaller)

Although, damages caused by stress on brain cannot be completely eradicated, However, the good new is that there are lots of ways by which you can overcome some of these problems created by stress on your brain. So, let’s dive in:

Reverse the Process

Research have indicated that brain has a natural ability to recover from stress. Although, it has a natural way of doing it, but if we could help our own brain, then the process would be faster enough.

Someone from one of the research institute have said “If we could remove some elements from our life which gives us stress, then our neural stem cells can regain their capacity to generate new neurons and thus helps us to get back to normal stage faster”.

Do Exercise

Some experts believe that certain types of exercise could actually help offset the stress and minimize neural damage. Few simple solutions like doing physically exercise could potentially prevent and reduce stress hormones, therefore reducing harm to the brain.

No such clear evidence on this. However, it is still good to do exercise, even if it doesn’t help our brain. Surely it does help our body though.

Proper Meditation

Lots of studies and research have been done on this and it has been proven that people who do meditation are less likely to get affected by stress. In a research conducted, it was proven that people who have got into meditation training program have reported less anxiety during any of the stress provoking tasks during their day (as against who weren’t able to do because they were not part of the meditation training program).

Good Sleep

Sleep is very important in controlling our stress hormones. When you are deprived of sleep, you tend to develop more stress hormones and this can negatively impact the brain. Therefore, have a good sleep so that your brain can be stress free all the time. In one of the article, I have written deeply about how sleep helps you to be more creative in life.
