Why are some people so lucky in life?

Have you ever looked at someone and thought “he/she is so lucky”, “he/she has all the money”, “he/she is in a good relationship”, “he/she has a good career”, or “everyone likes him/her so much” and so on.

I have done it too in my life. Whenever I try to think of all of these, my mind goes into a depression mode by overthinking as to why I am not successful like the others, why I am making less money, etc.

As I met a lot of people in my life, I have realized that everybody is lucky in this world. But, it all depends on what you are really comparing and with whom.

Infact, as a part of my research I have also found why some people are so lucky in their lives:

Work Hard, but quietly

Lucky people don’t boast about themselves, all the time. They do things without being noticed by the rest of the world. They don’t post on social media networks about what they are doing. Because they are simply busy working and that’s the core of being lucky. If you try to boast yourself to others, you will spend a lot of time in doing that instead of working hard. There are people who say "lucky" people don't require "hard work". But, I strongly believe "Hard work is the key to luck in the longer run."

Positive Surrounding

Life becomes so good when we surround ourselves by positive people and no longer have to worry about negative folks. Surround yourself with people who try to bring out the best version of yours, than being surrounded by people who are ready to bring you down.

Little Positivity everyday

All of us wake everyday with some thoughts. If we can proactively choose the right words and actions for ourselves, then that would make up our entire day. A little positivity everyday would glorify our day. It can be in the form of reading a quote or a page of book, which contains motivational words.

No Overthinking

You are not alone in this battle. We all tend to overthink a lot of time, in our day to day lives. Is it because of gene or DNA? I don’t think so. But increasingly, I have learnt that happy people choose to delimit themselves from overthinking.

Having Clear Purpose

Lucky people always have clear objectives in their lives. It could be something related to bringing up their children, starting a new business, or becoming a rockstar in their career.

Acceptance of Imperfection

Lucky people are always ready to accept the fact that they are not perfect. Infact many a time they use “it’s always a good time now” rather than “it’s not a good time now”. They go out and try to make things right everytime, but if they aren’t able to get it done, then they are also ready to accept it.

No Gossiping

Everybody gossips in their life. Lucky people just hate gossiping. They don’t allow negativity to get into their minds. If people gossip around them, they simply choose to smile and walk away.

Feel more than thinking

Lucky people often choose to pursue their hearts and not their minds. This is because they are more often driven by emotions and passion towards their work. So, when they face difficulties, they often tend to choose heart over the brain.

Focus on Goal, and not on plan

Because plans keep changing all the time, so they really don’t worry about it too much. What do not change too often, are the goals. Being happy in a relationship, getting kids to a good school/college, having a successful career, living a meaningful life are usually some of the constant goals, which usually do not change.

Actions all the time

Lucky people are always open to new things, even if they may fail. They always want to do something and move forward, rather than just sitting idle, all the time.

Open to meeting anyone

Lucky people are always willing to share their ideas to others and they are also open to meeting new people anywhere and anytime. One of the best advantages of doing this is that, most times you get to learn something new from the others.

Living in Current Moment

Lucky people are not too much worried about their past. Infact they think about future, but not as much as probably what you are thinking now. They live in their current moment and aren’t upset too much about their yesterday or tomorrow.

Self Belief

They believe in themselves than others. Sometimes you might call this as arrogance, but it is not. Lucky people feel that they have more inner strength to do great things.

Always Curious

Lucky people are always curious about everything in life. They ask questions all the time and they want to know why is something done the way it is. They always want to understand how things works and are great in exploring because they welcome new ideas, thoughts and observations.

Grateful to others

Lucky people are grateful about everything in life. Every single element which helped them reach where they currently are, is important to them. Be it their parents who have always supported them, their guru or friends, who have no stone left unturned. They are grateful to everything and every other person in their life.

Admitting that they are not Smart

Lucky people believe the only way to become smart is by learning. And learning never stops. Therefore, they always believe that they are not smart always. This one core attribute helps them to learn more from everyone.

Serve Others

Be it anything in life, they always want to serve others. From starting a new business to living a happy marriage life requires serving more to others than to yourself. Lucky people are proud of what they do and try to serve the best to others. They always think about others, than their own needs.

Knowing that they are not lucky

Lucky people become lucky by studying/reading more, helping more, building relationships. They know that they are not smart enough, but they grow all of the habits which are essentials in become lucky. They don’t count on luck. Instead they make luck to come to them.
