Why Living for others is much better idea than for self?

Why Live for others

A lot of people I have met in my life have always told me the fact that it is always better to live for self than for others. I have also got so many advice from others on why living for self is so much helpful and beneficial to us than living for anyone else.

Infact, for lot of my years I have been following this mantra which was told to me by society that if you want to be successful, you need to live for yourself and not for others. While this is completely true, but there are some flaws in this mechanism.

I will be explaining you this in the next few paragraphs.

My father, who is a great businessman always use to tell me that if we have to be successful, we need to keep our employees happy and make them successful.

And then I came across this quote:

“You cannot become successful, if you are not helping anyone to be successful.”

You cannot become successful, if you are not helping anyone to be successful.

Interestingly, I also came across another friend of my dad who has started his business. Hired few people who can manage it, gave all of them about 80% of the ownership and then moved on to another business. Following this model, today he has over 6 businesses which are running in this way, where he owns 20% in each of the business.

Ultimately, if you see my dad’s friend owns more than 100% of the shared total combined from all of his business. When most people to start and maintain a single business, he has actually started 6 of them and have been able to sustain them. Even if one of them shuts down or doesn’t give enough profit, he can always rely on the other 5 of them.

And that’s what we follow when we do business.

When we start a new business, we just don’t do it for ourselves. We also do it for the people who are working for us and with us. We give them some of the best in class training and knowledge so that at some point in time, they can manage the entire show by themselves. And if they are able to do that, we also reward them in terms of shares and profits for the business.

Isn’t this a great way to scale anything in life. Isn’t this a great way by which we are not just living life for ourselves, but also for the betterment of our people who are working along with us.
